Since the last four months, I have read over 100 research papers and scientific journals, watched more than 1000 YouTube videos, and consumed countless authoritative blog posts to understand the sustainable employment future in a world shaped by Generative AI, Agentic AI, and AGI.
Here are my findings:
Apprenticeship is over; ever-evolving craftsmanship is the new rule
Gone are the days when you spent 5-6 months in any profession to learn basic know-how and enter the workforce. Whatever you are going to learn now or in the future, AI already knows better than you. The game is to use AI as your base and make yourself irreplaceable by creating impactful value in your chosen domain.
AI is fast-forwarding the value creation game across industries
The journey from idea to launch across any domain is now extremely fast thanks to AI. This is one of the greatest times in mankind's history to create value and wealth in the process. A genie who knows everything is always by your side, helping you navigate the time-consuming process of idea to market across domains.
Mastery of fundamentals is the new rule now
AI is only good if you know the subject. Mindless prompting with the smartest AI agents is not doing any good for you. The solution is mastering the fundamentals and the core of any given subject to develop first-order thinking and a first-principle approach. Learning how to learn the fundamentals is the new rule.
Single-person unicorns are going to be the new normal
Teams are needed to create polished value at scale, but AI is quietly bridging the gap. Now we don't need teams of junior developers, content writers, or marketers. Individuals having a solid grasp of fundamentals are able to create polished value across industries at scale. Single-person billion-dollar companies are going to be the new normal.
Eventually, mass employment and value creation setups are going to go extinct
The industrial age started the concept of mass employment. Now AI is quietly rewriting this setup. We are going to see mass entrepreneurship where everyone is selling to society what they are uniquely good at. The base will be their passion and fundamental knowledge, aided by omnipotent AI.
Expectation for more in value delivery is the new normal
Since we have AI at our disposal, value delivery should now be better, faster, cheaper, and smoother. Humans or organizations using AI are replacing humans and organizations not using it. Follow Napoleon Hill's habit of doing more than paid for, with the help of AI.
Creativity, adaptation, and continuous learning will prosper, while resistance will suffer
Change is constant. People with resistance are going to suffer a lot. The game is to adapt based on the societal value creation environment and lead a peaceful life, not resist it, and become revolutionary.
